Women of UVU

The Women of UVU is a student-run organization supported by the Women's Success Center. Their goal is to help women achieve success and persist toward graduation by providing a supportive, social community, and connecting students to the resources they need through weekly drop-in activities and monthly socials.

Students of all genders are welcome to join.

Women of UVU Leadership Council

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Leadership Council is a group of student leaders who leads and manages the Women of UVU. The council also exists to support the Women’s Success center mission to recruit, retain, and graduate female identifying students.

Each Spring semester starting in February, applications open for members of Women of UVU to apply. Leadership Council is a full academic year commitment. Students of all genders are welcome.

How much does it cost to be a member?

Membership for the Women of UVU costs $10 for the academic school year (August to May). This membership includes a t-shirt, Women of UVU swag, and access to all Women of UVU hosted events for one year.

Will joining the Women of UVU help qualify me for scholarships?

Women of UVU offers scholarship opportunities for Leadership Council members. As a general body member, you are able to further develop your skills to strengthen your resume and preparedness to qualify for future scholarship opportunities.

Who can be a member of the Women of UVU?

AllUVU students, regardless of gender, are welcome to be members of Women of UVU. The organization is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Do you have weekly or monthly member meetings?

At this time, we do not have weekly or monthly member meetings. We share information through our weekly newsletter and social media.

How can I be more involved with Women of UVU?

There are multiple ways to be involved with the Women of UVU. You can attend the events that we host. Keep up to date with our events through our social media or weekly newsletter.

Additionally, each member is eligible for a leadership role within the Leadership Council. Applications open every February for this scholarship opportunity.

Will I receive a cord at graduation for participating in the Women of UVU?

 

There are two ways for members to be eligible for a WSC graduation cord at the time of graduation:

  • Students must be a participating member of Women of UVU for at least a year and submit a poster presentation or project report for how they have demonstrated leadership or women’s success.
  • Be an active member of the Women of UVU Leadership Council at any time during their college career for at least a year.

  1. The Women of UVU office located on the Losee Center 3rd floor (LC301) to the left.

I'm nervous to come to events because I don't know anyone. What advice do you have for me?

You are more than welcome to bring friends who aren’t members yet to our events. They can sign up at any of our events.

One of Women of UVU’s goals is to help students make social connections on campus. Our Leadership Council members do a great job of welcoming new faces and developing fun and safe opportunities for our members. By the time you leave an event, you will know new people and be ready to return.

How many activities can I go to?

Once you pay for your annual Women of UVU membership, you can (and are encouraged to) attend as many events as you would like. There is no limit on how many events you can attend in a semester or year.
