At the end of each academic year, the Women’s Program hosts a graduation celebration for all students who have interacted with the Women's Program. All eligible students will receive an invitation to the event.
Cords are given out to graduating students who meet the requirements for the program they participated in. These cords are only given out at the end of spring semester, but summer and fall graduates are eligible to receive cords the spring following their graduation.
Graduation cords are available for all Women of UVU (WoUVU) members who are actively involved with the program. You must meet one of these three requirements to receive a cord.
In addition to being a paid member of WoUVU, you must participate in at least three events per semester. There is a one-year minimum membership with WoUVU to qualify for this cord.
You may also receive a WoUVU cord by a) participating on the WoUVU Leadership Council for one full academic year and b) fulfilling all duties assigned to your position.
Students who receive a scholarship from the Women’s Program may receive a graduation cord by remaining eligible to receive future scholarships.
The Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA) is a two-semester program that encourages leadership identity development for women-identifying students and male allies. The WLA program gives students the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to lead in any capacity.
Students who complete the program (both fall and spring semesters) and earn a B+ or higher in the required courses may receive a graduation cord.
