Language Access

The Equity and Title IX Office recognizes the importance of being able to communicate effectively with individuals, including those with limited English proficiency.  A limited English proficient (LEP) person is someone who does not speak English as their primary language, and has a limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English. 

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the top five languages spoken in Utah County, Utah by individuals who are LEP are: Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, and Japanese. 

For free language services, including written translation or oral interpretation of a publically available UVU Equity and Title IX Office document, or to request documents in alternate formats such as Braille or large print, please contact us at TitleIX@uvu.edu.
