Focus on Accessibility

In April 2026 new regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act will require that UVU's web content and mobile apps be compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards. In order to prepare for this, the 2025 web audit includes tasks related to meeting those requirements for all web pages and digital documents that are published on uvu.edu.

Thank you for helping in this important effort to make sure our content is available to all users.

About the audit

What is the web audit?

The UVU website undergoes an audit every 12 months. The audit is coordinated by the Strategic Web Action Team (SWAT). Each campus division's web steward oversees the web audit for their division, with support from DEAT and UMC.

During the audit, departments across campus review their websites to confirm that they function properly, contain accurate information, are optimized for performance, and in compliance with security and accessibility best practices and requirements.

When is the audit?

In 2025 the audit will begin on May 5 and complete on June 13.

During this time, departments will work to update their site ownership information, check the pages on their sites, make necessary fixes, and work with web developers for assistance with more complex fixes. Web stewards will help track the completion of the audit in their division.

Who participates in the audit?

The web audit is coordinated by SWAT, which includes representation from each area of campus. Assigned site owners, site managers, and content contributors for each site on uvu.edu work on auditing the pages and files in their sites. DEAT and UMC provide instruction, training and support on how to complete the tasks in the audit.
