Nutrrition event

March is National Nutrition Month! To celebrate, UVU's Registered Dietitians have put together month long activities for you to participate in. Examples of the activities are to cook a nutritious meal at home, get enough sleep, try a new fruit or veggie, and visit us at our booth on March 26th where we will be giving out free smoothies. Health and Wellness Fair

 

Please join UVU Wellness Programs for our 2024 Health and Wellness Fair! This fun and interactive event aims to encourage healthy lifestyles by providing a variety of interactive educational resources, including information, games, and prizes. Topics are different each day and include the power of positivity, financial wellness, non-toxic living, intutive eating, excercise, stress management, home-safety, heart health, the importance of spending time outdoors, and more! 

The Health and Wellness Fair will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 27th and Thursday, March 28th in the Hall fo Flags. The event is free.  


UVU Health and Wellness Program

 

Learn how to take control of your health with this FREE five week program. The program includes group discussion and education from several health and wellness experts. Sessions are held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:30,  beginning on March 19, 2024.

Women's Climbing Night

Women's Climbing Night - Join us for a free Rock Climbing and Women's Health Night, April 18th from 7-10 pm at The Project Climbing Wall (SL-203). 

 


12 Step Recovery Meetings

This open meeting is for those in any stage of recovery from any type of addiction and/or codependency.

The only requirement for attendance is the desire to be sober and healthy.

*UVU Parking Garage validation available for meetings. Passport Parking app with account required for validation.

Monthly Health Screenings 

Wellness Programs provides free health screenings once a month (see calendar for dates) for UVU students and employees, which includes an overall wellness assessment,  blood pressure and body composition testing. A Wellness Coach will administer the screenings, provide the participant with a copy of their results, and answer any questions that the participants may have.

  • April 8, 2024 1-2 pm in the SB Atrium
  • April 11, 2024 1-2 pm in the SB Atrium

Munchie Monday : Look for us roaming around campus with a cart full of free fruit or veggie samples from 11am - 1pm.

Tasty Tuesdays : Join us every Tuesday in the SL Demonstration Kitchen (by the bowling alley) from 11am-1pm for a FREE healthy food sample. All recipes and food samples are quick, easy, and healthy!

Wellness Wednesdays : Drop by for a few minutes to learn about health topics in a fun and interactive way!  Wellness Wednesday topics vary from week to week and include interactive wellness activities such as free health quizzes, games, PRIZES, fitness competitions and more! This event is held each Wednesday from 11:00 am-1:00 pm in the Sorensen Center at the Zone (across from the bookstore). 

Thinking Thursday: Look for our table in the RL Concourse every Thursday for a quick and simple game.  Activity is held from 11am-1pm.

Mindfulness Practice :Wellness Programs invites you to join us each Wednesday at 1:00, as we practice and explore mindfulness with instructor, Jarom Stubbs. Sessions take place in the SL Reflection Center, located across from the bowling alley, and each session lasts about 1 hour.  Everyone is welcome!

 

 

Monthly Cooking Class : Come to our FREE Healthy Cooking Class held on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 in the Student Life (SL) Demo Kitchen. Each class is interactive and packed full of tips on preparing healthy meals, and participants always get to try out the recipes from that class. The Body Project: This is a FREE 4-week body acceptance program designed for women. Join us and engage in conversations and practice skills that help you overcome societal views of the "perfect body" and learn to accept and even love your body.
