TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) offers advising, tutoring, and other benefits to students within our program. Through these services, we support our students as they navigate higher education.
Students must be accepted to the TRIO SSS Program before receiving services.

SSS students may receive free tutoring in-person or online. Our in-person tutors are hired and trained specifically by our staff on how to support TRIO students. Topics offered in person cover most general education classes and study skills.
When you request an appointment, you will be individually assigned to a tutor based on subject and schedule ability. After your first appointment, you can schedule consistent appointment times to continue meeting one-on-one with your assigned tutor until the end of the semester.
If you need support in a subject not offered by our in-person tutors, our online tutoring service offers additional topics and more varied scheduling, including weekend availability. Once you are accepted into SSS, you will gain access to the online tutoring platform.
All SSS students receive advising support from a TRIO advisor. This support is different from academic advising and does not replace the services your advisor through your major will provide. Instead, TRIO advisors offer Clifton Strengths advising and regular check-ins.

We host community and social activities & opportunities on campus throughout the year.
If you are a UVU student accepted in the TRIO Student Support Services program, you can qualify for Priority Registration.
We have a lobby dedicated to making you feel like you have a place to study, connect, receive on-the-spot academic support, and land for the day. We have tutors available throughout the day to support you and front desk staff who can also be a friendly support. We have free popcorn to keep you going as well as comfortable areas to study or socialize in.
TRIO keeps a break room stocked for students to use. There is a microwave, fridge, and affordable snacks available for students to have a deserved break.
TRIO has a computer lab for students to use along with a student printer that connects to each individual's UVU print credit.
This assessment provides you with an in-depth analysis of your top five strengths. These unique five strengths have less than a 1 in 33 million chance of someone having the same five like you. You are unique, and we use this assessment to help you understand yourself so you can utilize your strengths for academic, social, and career success.
Accepted students will be added to our TRIO SSS Canvas course, where they will receive updates and announcements.
There are services and programs across UVU dedicated to helping you succeed. Whether you need additional tutoring, accommodations, or a little help navigating campus, there are resources available for you.
Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
Admin staff are available Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.
