General Questions

Do I need to make an appointment to test? 

Yes, appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Visit  the Scheduling Page of our website for more scheduling information.  Click on the “Schedule an Appointment” button to access our scheduling system, RegisterBlast/PrepBlast.

How do I reschedule? 

Please review the Rescheduling Page of our website.

Is Photo ID required for testing?

Yes.  You must present a current, government-issued photo ID at the time of check-in. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s license/permit, passport, and UVU ID card.

What do I do with my personal belongings (backpack, keys, phone, etc.) while testing?

All personal belongings will need to be kept in your pockets or underneath your desk while testing.

What is the fee for my exam?

Fees vary by exam.  The price of the exam will be shown in parenthesis next to the name of the exam when you schedule. Visit  the Scheduling Page of our website for more information about scheduling and to access our scheduling system, RegisterBlast/PrepBlast, to make an appointment.

Which exams require a permission voucher?

If you are taking the TEAS or HSRT for UVU then you must receive a permission voucher from the department for which you are testing.  The voucher must be presented at the time of check-in.    If you are testing for a school other than UVU, you do not need a permission voucher.

What if I recently changed my name?

If you are testing for UVU we need to ensure that your name matches your ID compared to the UVU database. If you have changed your name recently you can bring both your current ID and your previous ID that matches the UVU database. We suggest that you can contact UVU to update your name in their database. To check your name in UVU's database you can follow these instructions here.

Am I allowed to bring my own calculator? 

No personal calculators are allowed. However, you can use the calculator in the ALEKS program on questions that you are allowed it.  Scratch paper  is also provided by the testing center.

How long is the test?

The exam has a 2.5 hour time limit with up to 30 questions. 

How long will it take for my scores to be entered?

Scores will be entered into UVU's database within 24 business hours. 

How do I know what class I tested into? 

Visit the GE Math Success Class Placement page to determine what class you placed into. We also recommend that you meet with your academic advisor regarding your placement.

What do I do if I want to retake the exam? 

You must complete the required 3 hours of learning modules in your ALEKS cohort and wait 24 hours after your last test before you can take another proctored attempt.

Accuplacer

How do I know what class I tested into?

The best way to interpret your ACCUPLACER scores is by talking with your academic advisor about your college or university’s placement score requirements. 

Can I retake just one section of the Accuplacer?

If needed, you can take only one section of the Accuplacer. It is advised that you discuss with your academic advisor whether this is a good option for you.

When retaking any section of the Accuplacer, the highest score that has not expired will  be kept. Scores expire after 2 years.

Testing Remotely

How can I make sure that I have everything set for remote testing?

For the remote process to work well, it is important to read and follow the step-by-step instructions found on our Scheduling Page. (The steps are located under the “Proctored at Testing Center VS. Testing at Home” drop-down.)

Another option is to schedule a free Technology Pre-Check Appointment that can help you prepare your technology for your at-home testing appointment. This meeting would be a video conference call using Microsoft Teams 1 - 2 business-days before your appointment.

Community Testing

How do I sign up for the GED? 

All GED appointments are made through the GED website at www.gedtestingservices.com. Additional GED questions can be found on their website, or you can call their help line: 1-877-392-6433

How do I get accommodations for a Pearson Vue exam? 

Pearson Vue testing accommodations are established through their website at https://home.pearsonvue.com/Test-takers/Accommodations.aspx.  

What forms of ID will you accept?

Valid Drivers Licenses and Passports are always accepted. Additional information of which ID’s are allowed are provided when scheduling your exam.  

How do I reschedule my Pearson Vue exam?

All scheduling and rescheduling are done through the Pearson Vue website.  https://home.pearsonvue.com/

Can I get fingerprints done at your location? 

Candidates that test at our location and pass can get fingerprints done at our location in WS 104. Instructions on registering for an appointment will be given at the time of the exam.

I'm not a UVU Student. Where should I park?

Option 1: Download the Passport Parking app or call 704-271-1189 prior to parking on UVU campus. Candidates may park directly north of our building entrance in lot L9. The designated Passport Parking stalls are Zone 80104.

Option 2: Register for a parking day pass at uvu.edu/parking/- Obtain a Parking Permit - Guest Login - Create an account - Get Permits.
