Complete Your Required Trainings

In order to provide a safe campus for both employees and students, there are five required trainings all UVU employees must go through annually. New employees need to complete them within their first 30 days of employment. Plan about two hours to complete all five trainings. These will come through your UVU email and you will access them through UVULearn.

Discrimination and Prevention (Title IX):

Explains the proper methods of disclosing, handling, and reporting sexual harassment and discrimination.

Cybersecurity:

Uncovers popular hacking tricks and promotes the proper use and secure handling of UVU student, employee, financial, and other sensitive data.

Conflict of Interest:

Assists employees with identifying apparent and potential conflicts of interest and strategically managing such conflicts.

FERPA:

Reviews the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.

Workplace Conduct:

This course highlights what abusive conduct is, what it is not, and how to report it.

Free to UVU employees, LinkedIn Learning has tens of thousands of videos on personal and professional development topics.

 

UVUDEVELOP Workshops (for staff)

Based on the six Staff Competencies, each 60-minute UVUDEVELOP workshops is offered twice a semester during the Fall and Spring semesters and aims to provide instruction, engagement, and resources around the skills we want staff employees to have.

 

UVULEAD Workshops (for supervisors)

Based on the six Leadership Competencies, each 60-minute UVUDEVELOP workshops is offered twice a semester during the Fall and Spring semesters and aims to provide instruction, engagement, and resources around the skills we want supervisors to have.

 

Cultural Competency Workshops

The Cultural Competency Workshops are designed to help participants build caring relationships across Utah Valley University’s campus community by gaining the tools to improve self-reflection and awareness, communicate effectively across diverse cultures, fostering mutual respect, and promoting an inclusive campus.
