The UVU Department of Mechanical & Civil Engineering (MCE) provides an engaging experience to prepare students for a diverse array of tangible and rewarding engineering careers. We offer accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering (BSCE) and mechanical engineering (BSME) through the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Engineers apply knowledge of the principles of math and science to create useful solutions that improve the quality of life. If you can see it and touch it, MCE helps prepare you to design and create it.
Applications for admission to engineering programs are accepted until two weeks prior to the start of a new semester. However, we encourage you to apply as early as possible.
"Make a real difference and love your career."
"Mechanical and civil engineers are critical to our society, providing innovations that keep the world running and move us into the future. In the UVU MCE department, preparing students to become effective and influential engineers and leaders who will change the world for the better is our top priority. Our faculty bring with them a wealth of experience and are passionate about teaching. They take the time to interact one-on-one with our students to get to know them and their needs. By caring for our students, generating passion for and a deep understanding of engineering principles through applying them to real-life applications, and providing plenteous active learning experiences, we enable our students to develop and grow to be ready to hit the ground running on their engineering careers. Our students continue to amaze me with their accomplishments, including creating innovative and quality capstone projects, conducting and disseminating significant and novel research results, winning national competitions, and launching meaningful careers."
