About the Program

Pre-engineering coursework completed at UVU will be sufficient for students to remain at UVU or to transfer to all of the Utah universities with baccalaureate engineering degrees. All students who declare pre-engineering as their major are automatically accepted into pre-engineering status. After completion of the pre-engineering program at UVU, students can apply for professional status at UVU or at an institution of the student’s choice.

"I felt like each professor was personally invested in my success."

"I studied engineering at UVU because I felt like each professor was personally invested in my success. The small class sizes really helped me be able to work closely with professors to make sure that I understood the material in a way that prepared me for the professional field. Plus, I was able to apply what I learned to the world around me and I feel it has truly prepared me for the workplace."

"The pre-engineering program provides a supportive learning environment."

"The UVU pre-engineering program offers a strong foundation in engineering principles that prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in today's competitive landscape. The program prepares students to continue into the ABET-accredited UVU civil, mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering programs. The Associate of Science (A.S) or Associate of Pre-Engineering (A.P.E.) degrees also facilitate transfer to other Utah schools. The pre-engineering program provides a supportive learning environment and paves the way for success in advanced studies and rewarding engineering careers."
