The following steps should be taken to become a professionally licensed engineer:
The first step in becoming a professional engineer is to take the FE exam, which is a computer-based test with about 110 multiple-choice questions. This test is designed to measure your engineering knowledge. Usually, this test is taken during or right after undergraduate engineering studies. There are many benefits in taking and passing the FE exam, including higher earning potential and better career opportunities.
The UVU Civil and Mechanical (CAM) Engineering Scholarship is funded by the National Science Foundation under an S-STEM Grant and is intended to support students who want to study civil or mechanical engineering, have shown excellent academic ability, and have a documented financial need. If awarded, the student will receive financial support covering tuition, fees, and other expenses for up to four years, as long as the student is a declared civil or mechanical engineering major and meets program academic requirements.
Since engineering is a creative discipline, we'd like your submission to be creative as well. You can choose any format you'd like — text, audio/video, or mixed media (examples include a social media or YouTube video, a website, an e-portfolio, or something else you choose). Whichever format you choose, your submission should be the equivalent of a one-page document or a 2-3 minute video.
Mental health is vital to student success and an important part of your overall well-being. Throughout your time in higher education, you may face a variety of challenges, obstacles, and pressures that make it difficult to navigate your daily life, let alone reach your academic goals. If you are struggling with your mental health, know that you do not have to navigate these challenges alone.
