Utah Valley University utilizes an internally developed PBA process to guide resource allocations. Dr. Qudisat recently led a 3-year look back assessment to ensure equitable allocations, responsible stewardship, and increased accountability among all divisions at UVU, while Dr. Laurie Sharp assessed the individual schools and colleges. The Office of Admissions just completed a successful implementation of Element451, a software that touts itself as, "The AI First CRM and Student Engagement Platform." In this session, we will show you how this new CRM is changing the game in recruitment and admissions, new tracking metrics that support enrollment efforts, and provide insight on performing a successful software implementation.
Whether in a siloed system with only a few users or an enterprise wide implementation with thousands of users and hundreds of connections, good governance and literacy are key to making meaning from our data. Without them, we experience DRIP, being Data Rich and Information Poor. This session will share how work in data governance and data literacy work to drive improvements in a large community college district in Arizona.

This presentation will cover the history and development of Utah’s higher education performance measures on Access, Timely Completion, and High Yield. Participants will also learn how institutional data as well as that from USBE and the National Student Clearinghouse are used to prepare institutional performance measures. Participants will gain insight into the interrelatedness of various system-reported files, the reporting calendar, data processing, and the annual goal-setting timeline.

Come learn about the new fact sheet, when it is updated, and where you can find it. Using the fact sheet as your primary resource for presentations to stakeholders and referencing key data about UVU will help you present trusted information to stakeholders.

This session is designed mainly for deans, associate deans, department chairs, and program coordinators. We’ll walk you through how to use Gray DI to support your program decision making. You will gain valuable information about how to access the variety of available dashboards and what metrics to look for to better evaluate your programs within departments and colleges. Further resources and information on analyzing program market analysis and financial cost of instruction will be shared through examples and analysis tips.
Promoting student success often requires working with to data many students find sensitive. This session examines how those using data for student retention can promote student success while protecting student privacy by applying federal and state law and sound privacy practices. Using tools such as Privacy Impact Assessment and Privacy by Design, it shows how the expectations of FERPA's school official authority for data disclosure and state rules on sharing data with vendors can effectively guide the use of sensitive student data in retention applications.
