Phi Theta Kappa

Introduction

Are you interested in getting recognized for your accomplishments? Qualify for potential scholarships? Leadership development? Participate in service and social activities? Have something stand out on job or graduate school applications? PTK is the largest international honor society in the world within higher education. It is comprised of regions and chapters that reside within the regions. UVU has an approved chapter called Alpha Sigma Theta within the Rocky Mountain-Cascade Region.

Mission

Phi Theta Kappa's nonprofit mission is to recognize and promote student academic achievement. PTK provides opportunities to cultivate professional and leadership skills, secure scholarships, explore diverse career paths, and build a network of supportive peers and trusted advisors that last a lifetime.

How do I qualify for PTK?

UVU

Enrolled at UVU

12 Credit Hours

Complete at least 12 credits

3.5 GPA

Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

How do I join?

  • Fill out this form
  • Pay the one-time $115 lifetime membership fee
  • Golden Opportunity scholarships by the national organization (not our local chapter) to help pay part of membership fee and awarded randomly (contact Faculty Advisor)

Interested in Becoming a Student Officer?

Elections to serve as an Alpha Sigma Theta chapter officer typically take place in the Spring semester of each year to serve for the following academic year (Fall and Spring). Please contact [email protected] for more information.
