Role of the Policy Coordinator Committee

Scope

The Policy Coordinator Committee makes recommendations to university leaders on strategic plans and policy development. Its role is to advise and coordinate to ensure the continual development of policy at the University.

 

Mission

The committee provides training to new policy coordinators, encourages employees and students to actively engage in university governance throughout the policy process, coordinates policy efforts across the University, enhances communication about policy development, and, where appropriate, assists in identifying policy and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

»  Coordinators monitor policy needs and develop policy strategy plans for their organization in consultation with Policy Office, University Compliance, General Counsel, their vice president, etc.

»  Coordinators across the University participate in the Policy Coordinator Committee, chaired by the Policy Office Director and sponsored by the Chief Policy Officer/Vice President of Budget, Planning, and Finance.

»  The Policy Coordinator Committee ensures policies are coordinated across areas as appropriate.

»  The committee chairs will provide ongoing training in policy process and development to coordinators.
