The UVU Emerald Singers is one of three auditioned choral ensembles on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, UT. Now in it's sixth year, the choir is comprised of approximately 60 treble singers and represents a diverse population of the UVU student body including music majors, non-majors, freshman through senior year students, in addition to non-traditional and post baccalaureate students. Choir singers meet three times each week for 50-minute rehearsals and combine annually with Deep Green to study and perform mixed choral literature and choral masterworks. The Emerald Singers are conducted by Dr. Cherilyn Worthen, Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education.

The UVU Symphony Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble that performs a wide variety of literature from the 18th to 21st centuries. It has performed at prestigious UVU events such as the President’s Scholarship Ball, Commencement, and events in collaboration with the UVU Center for Constitutional Studies honoring guests such as Mike Levitt and David McCullough. The Symphony's mission is to provide experiences that will enrich the musical artistry of students and enliven the musical community on- and off-campus. It collaborates regularly with community and campus performing groups such as the Utah Regional Ballet, UVU Contemporary Ensemble, UVU Repertory Ballet Ensemble, Wasatch Chorale, Utah Valley Youth Symphony, UVU Chamber Choir, Men’s Choir, and Women’s Choir, UVU Opera, Mountain View High School Symphonic Orchestra, Westlake Chamber Orchestra, Westlake High School Chorus, Lakeridge Junior High School Orchestra, and the John Rees & AVC Advanced Photography Class. Future collaborations will include the Utah Valley Symphony and Lyceum Symphonic Strings.

Directed by David Baker, the Jazz Orchestra is UVU’s premiere jazz ensemble. The group rehearses twice per week, performs traditional and contemporary big band repertoire, and hosts the annual Ice Breaker Jazz Festival. Recent jazz guest artists have included Jeff Hamilton, Gilad Hekselman, Jeff Coffin, Kobie Watkins, Greg Gisbert, Art Lande, and Jerry Leake.
