4. Implementation and Accountability

Campus Equity, Inclusion, and Divsersity Committee meetingAll campus community members are encouraged to adapt to the three critical elements of collaboration, coordination, and cooperation to successfully promote and support inclusive practices. The Office of Inclusion and Diversity, campus leaders, and stakeholders collaborate to ensure that strategic initiatives are implemented effectively. Implementing and evaluating UVU’s Engagement Plan 2024-2028 helps us achieve our shared objective of strengthening equity and inclusivity on campus, ensuring that UVU is the first choice for students and talented employees.

To achieve this, the Engagement Plan 2024-2028 uses a bottom-up approach to develop effective, targeted interventions that address the specific needs of all UVU students and resources. This way, each division and college has a detailed, targeted engagement plan that supports their students to persist, retain, and graduate, helps their employees succeed, and enables them to achieve their goals from 2024-2028. The engagement plans are reviewed annually to ensure flexibility, adaptation, and revisions and to foster growth and development. To track progress and measure success, multilevel key performance indicators are developed, tracked, and utilized to inform decision-making and further adaptation and optimization.

The Office of Inclusion and Diversity collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, executive leadership, and departmental leaders to create developmental evaluations and takeaways. By establishing metrics and key performance indicators, we share best practices with our community, implement essential changes, and work closely with campus members to facilitate change and ensure accountability.
