Academic Standings & Holds

You may have an academic hold on your account based on your Academic Standing.

You can view your holds in myUVU > Students tab > Enrollment Tasks.

For any Grade Check (GC) holds you will need to contact your Academic Coach. 

Keep in mind: Not all holds come from Academic Coaching and Educational Standards. You can find a list of other types of registration holds here.

Remove your Academic Standards hold below!

SUSPENSION AND DISMISSAL Petition Deadlines

  • February 1 - Summer return
  • March 15 - Fall return
  • June 1 - Fall return (for students suspended after Spring)
  • September 15 - Spring return

First Academic Warning

  • Semester GPA below 2.0.
  • Registration hold (AW).
  • Complete online warning workshop.
  • Hold automatically released.

Complete Academic Warning Workshop

Second Academic Warning

  • Any future semester GPA below 2.0.
  • Registration hold (AW).
  • Complete online warning workshop.
  • Meet with academic advisor to remove hold.

Complete Academic Warning Workshop

Academic Notice

  • Semester & cumulative GPA below 2.0.
  • Registration hold (AP).
  • Complete online academic notice workshop.
  • Meet with academic advisor to remove hold.

Complete Academic Notice Workshop

Continued Notice

  • Cumulative GPA below 2.0 while on Academic Notice.
  • Registration hold (CP).
  • Complete online continued notice workshop.
  • Meet with Standards Counselor to remove hold.
  • Complete midterm grade check with Standards Counselor.

Complete continued notice Workshop

Academic Suspension

  • Semester & cumulative GPA below 2.0 while on Continued Notice.
  • Registration hold (AS).
  • Must sit out for one semester.
  • Submit suspension petition to return.
  • Participate in academic coaching and monthly grade checks with Standards Counselor.

Submit Academic Suspension Petition

Academic Dismissal

  • Semester & cumulative GPA below 2.0 while on Academic Suspension.
  • Registration hold (AD).
  • Must sit out for one calendar year.
  • Submit dismissal petition to return.
  • Participate in academic coaching and monthly grade checks with Standards Counselor.
