Awards of Excellence

The University Awards of Excellence program recognizes full-time faculty and staff who dedicate their time and talents to students, scholarship, and the advancement of higher education. Annually, the UVU Board of Trustees elects to recognize four employees for their contributions to strengthening UVU's mission. Additionally, the Presidential Awards of Excellence highlight four more faculty and staff for their efforts in key areas related to UVU's mission, values, and action commitments.

UVU Awards of Excellence Nomination Information

The UVU Board of Trustee Awards of Excellence are the university's most prestigious award designed to recognize UVU employees who have made outstanding long-term contributions to the university.

The UVU Presidential Awards of Excellence are designed to recognize UVU employees who advance the mission, values, and action commitments of the university. The award categories are as follows:

PRESIDENTIAL EXCEPTIONAL CARE AWARD

Recognizes one full-time employee for demonstrating exceptional care in teaching, engagement, and/or service.

PRESIDENTIAL EXCEPTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY AWARD

Recognizes one full-time employee for their commitment to inclusion, efficiency, and/or leadership.

PRESIDENTIAL EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS AWARD

Recognizes one full-time employee for their dedication to student success, scholarship, and/or innovation.

PRESIDENTIAL EXCELLENCE IN MISSION AWARDS

Recognizes one full-time employee for their demonstrated excellence in service to the university's mission and commitment to inclusion, engagement, and achievement.

To be eligible for any award, nominated employees need to have exited their introductory period and be in good standing with the university, e.g. not on probation.

Nomination Procedure

Complete nomination packet will include the following components:

Nomination cover sheet
- Download Trustee/Presidential Award Nomination Cover Sheet
Nomination letter from fellow employee. This letter should be no longer than two pages and should address the unique ways the nominee has demonstrated excellence in teaching, engagement, student success support, and/or any of the areas designated above. Please note, individuals may not self-nominate.
One brief letter of support from the individual's Vice President to the President. A current resumé, vitae, or summary of professional accomplishments for the nominated individual.
