A MESSAGE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

STEPHEN M. PULLEN, MFA

To Our Dear Friends of the Noorda Center and to All Prospective Circle Members,

As dean of the School of the Arts and artistic director of The Noorda Center for the Performing Arts, it has been the highlight of my career to interact with so many of you who have put your considerable time, passion, and resources behind the vision and mission of UVU and The Noorda to make it the cultural jewel of Utah County. My gratitude simply cannot be overstated. As we build The Circle, an elite group of arts patrons, donors, and friends, it will make it possible for us to bring in world-renowned artists like Audra McDonald, Bernadette Peters, Josh Bell, and so many more to our beloved county. We hope you will choose to become an integral part of this exciting group of friends who wish to propel The Noorda’s ambitious and exhilarating vision into the stratosphere — and fill it with stars! As I’ve said many times, The Noorda, while creating world-class cultural arts experiences for the residents of Utah County and beyond, serves to further the mission of the School of the Arts — which is to teach and train the artists of tomorrow to be truly exceptional. This is accomplished by the rare and astonishing interaction students receive with some of the world’s greatest performers and legends. So please, join us. Become a member of The Circle — at whatever level suits you. We promise it will be an experience like no other!

PERFORMER BIOGRAPHIES

VIKTORIA GRIMMY is a 5th generation Circus performer who was featured in the Tony Award winning revival of Pippin on Broadway. She has toured with Britney Spears World Circus Tour, Big Apple Circus, Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey, and many more. If you think you recognize her you just might . . . She has been seen in many national commercials, had a role in the movie Burlesque and most recently Viktoria was featured in the film The Greatest Showman starring Hugh Jackman.

Viktoria was born into a multi-generational circus family who toured with the Soviet Circus. After a beautiful career in Russia, Viktoria’s parents wanted to expand their opportunities to the United States, so they moved with the their children to New York City. Shortly after, The Grimmy Family Circus was touring private events and eventually with The Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus for two years all over the USA.

Viktoria has competed internationally and placed Bronze in the Monte Carlo Circus Festival among other prestigious circus competitions.

In 2009, Viktoria embarked on the Britney Spears World Circus Tour, performing in the biggest arenas all over the world for massive audiences. After the tour, Viktoria had two incredible years working and performing in Los Angeles, before moving back to NYC to perform on Broadway with Pippin.

After years of performing on different projects, Viktoria was incredibly excited to finally pursue a show with her husband Michael. So, in 2015 after her departure from Pippin, Viktoria and Michael finally started to focus on their two person circus variety show and exclusively working together. Being on set together for The Greatest Showman was an incredible treat especially because they were able to experience it together.

Viktoria loves making costumes and spending time at her amazing “Circus Estate” in upstate NY with Michael and their 3 cats.

MICHAEL DUBOIS has been performing for over 15 years and already has national television appearances including NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, and last year’s hit movie The Greatest Showman starring Hugh Jackman. DuBois has performed at over 1,000 colleges and universities across the United States, NBA halftime shows, theatres and headlines multiple major cruise lines all over the world.

Michael was born and raised in the small town of Horseheads in upstate New York and was yearly brought to see the circus by his grandparents. As a kid, Michael was always involved in sports, music, and curious to learn any new skill he could. Michael later learned to juggle in middle school gym class, and purchased his first unicycle at a garage sale. After high school, Michael attended Penn State University where he ran the juggling club and magic club with his then performing partner Chris Chelko. He graduated with a degree in business management and photography.

After graduation, Michael and Chris became full time performers and moved to New York City where they performed at hundreds of private events and universities. In 2009, Chris moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television producing, and Michael began his solo performances with his show the Solo Circus. After years of performing solo, Michael couldn’t be more excited to start performing the new show with his wife and longtime partner in life and now performance, Viktoria. The Great DuBois have been performing together full-time since 2015 and live in upstate New York on their 15 acre “Circus Estate” with their 3 cats.
