The arts possess the sublime power to inspire, engage, and transform. Just as a solitary note holds the ability to captivate, a single voice, gesture, or melody possesses the ineffable power to carry us away.
We invite you to embark upon a new journey with us this season at The Noorda Center—home to inspiring events and an exciting hub for the arts in Utah County. Our mission is to produce and present artistic excellence, which would not be possible without the generous support of our donors and sponsors. We thank them and express our deep gratitude to all patrons, supporters, and friends of The Noorda Center.
Thank you for journeying with us this season to experience the profound and transformative power of the arts!

Staging new works in the theatre can be a surprising challenge. An untested text requires a different approach than you might take with something more established, or proven. Part of the challenge comes from how much more is in a new story that may surprise the audience; we don't have the luxury of knowing if this bit will land, or if that part will be funny. A playwright writes a story, and we then work to honor their intent by virtue of clear staging.
What's been clear from the onset of this process for me is how invested our playwright has been in telling a story with heart. With each subsequent draft and rewrite, I've had the privilege to see this story continue to hone and sharpen. The production you are going to see tonight is the result of countless hours from many different people with a massive range of disciplinary knowledge and skill: designers working to create costumes and set pieces, props and lighting and sound all to help bolster the story and the action of the play; crew ensuring the show continues moving forward with a silent dance of unseen movement backstage; actors who have devoted most of their evenings for the past several months to carving the shape and nuance of their characters and the world they inhabit; producers who have helped keep administrative and organizational logistics with competence and clarity; and of course our playwright, who has been iterating on this story for years, and has been a critical part of our rehearsal process in the room with us.
When all those moving parts are able to turn with relative harmony, we end up with a new story that will hopefully surprise and delight you. As the director of this show, I think perhaps the most exciting aspect of this story is how our playwright has explored relationships. While this is a play on classic fairy tales, and the overall tone of the show is one of lightness and comedy, there is a depth to the character relationships that I've found to be at the very heart of what makes this show special, and I am excited to share a new work of theatre with you this evening. Please enjoy!
As we prepare to welcome the community to experience the wonder at The Noorda Center, we'd like to thank you for making it all possible.
The performing arts inspire us to engage with others, discover new ways of thinking and feeling, and provides us with hope—in short, we believe the arts transform you. As an exciting hub for the arts in Utah County, we produce hundreds of performances by talented students, faculty, and world-renowned visiting artists. We invite everyone to join in connecting through the arts.
As part of UVU’s inaugural EverGREEN fundraising campaign, we invite you to make a gift to UVU's Department of Theatre today.
Your gift impacts not only students, but everyone who comes to The Noorda Center by ensuring programming and exciting artistic creation continues.
Please make a gift today by clicking below. Thank you!

Leah Carr
Godmother
Leah Carr is…still a junior in the BFA Acting program here at UVU. Lol. Leah fell in love with new works her freshman year and hasn’t stopped acting in them since. It all started with her performances of “Love, Dad” and “Two Mice” in UVU Theatre’s student-written one acts, Short Attention Span Theatre. She then continued with multiple new productions in the community, including Lost Works at the HIVE and Take My Death Away at the Angelus. At that point, it was her thing and she decided she might as well embrace it. She went on to premiere the atypical musical Relative Space in 2023 (now known as Little Piece of You) acting alongside her director, Chase Grant (he was a great fake dad except he wouldn’t let her drive), and last year helped devise an ethnographic performance about religious differences in families, In Good Faith. And now you’re here, watching her put on The Whole Story for the first time ever. How very typical. Leah is super excited for you to see the show, super proud of Addie for writing such an awesome story, and super adores the cast and crew because they’re the best:)) Go team!!
