The arts possess the sublime power to inspire, engage, and transform. Just as a solitary note holds the ability to captivate, a single voice, gesture, or melody possesses the ineffable power to carry us away.
We invite you to embark upon a new journey with us this season at The Noorda Center—home to inspiring events and an exciting hub for the arts in Utah County. Our mission is to produce and present artistic excellence, which would not be possible without the generous support of our donors and sponsors. We thank them and express our deep gratitude to all patrons, supporters, and friends of The Noorda Center.
Thank you for journeying with us this season to experience the profound and transformative power of the arts! —Courtney R. Davis, Dean, School of the Arts

Dear Family and Friends of the UVU Ballroom Dance Company,
We are thrilled to welcome you to our Spring Concert, “A Moment in Time.” Tonight, you will experience two brandnew medleys—Ballroom and Latin—that we’ll be taking with us to the Blackpool DanceSport Festival next month. We’re eagerly anticipating the opportunity to compete once again in the British Open Formation Championships!
Our Ballroom Medley, inspired by Bridgerton, boasts beautiful choreography by Andres and Veronika End. For the Latin Medley, Daria Sereda and Manuel Frighetto have crafted vibrant, ’80sthemed routines bursting with energy. Sena Couture has designed stunning costumes for both pieces. Since these beautiful costumes are still being finished up with rhinestones, we won’t be presented them this concert, but we’reproud to unveil them May 16th at our final performance and costume reveal before we depart for England!
Countless hours of rehearsaland logistical planning have gone into this production. None of it would be possible without the generosity and support of our community:
Thank you all for your dedication and hard work.
Please sit back, relax, and enjoy watching these beautiful dancers share what we have poured our hearts into this year!
With gratitude and excitement,
Tara Boyd

She continues working in sales and entrepreneurship to pay for dance, education, and living expenses. Determined to become a ballroom finalist, Meghan trained for hours each day, even waking at 5 a.m. for a year and a half to practice. Both of Parker's parents are UVU Tour Team Alumni, and their experience with the art helped inspire Parker's continued dedication. After graduating high school, he chose to focus on American Smooth and now trains with Natalie and Dawid Schulz. He has had the opportunity to work with various world champions and finalists when they visit Utah, and remains dedicated to further developing his skills at UVU. With a solid foundation in ballroom and a continued commitment to growth, Parker looks forward to advancing his dance career.

Hailey now trains to nearly every style of dance, finding inspiration from her amazing teachers. When not dancing, Sierra, an Architecture major, spends her time studying, drawing, and designing. She also loves spending time with her family.
Jax Spenst
Jax grew up in Eagle Mountain with his four younger siblings. His athletic journey began in various little league sports, but it wasn't until his sixth-grade year, when his mother encouraged him to try a ballroom dance program, that he discovered his true passion. Since then, Jax has been a dedicated member of competitive formation teams. During his junior high years, he danced for the Westlake High School freshman team, and in high school, he became a key dancer for the Cedar Valley Aviators. Now at UVU, Jax continues to refine his skills as a member of the formation team. Outside of ballroom, Jax enjoys climbing, riding dirt bikes, and snowboarding. He's committed to both growing as a dancer and enjoying the outdoor activities that bring him joy.
Amanda Taylor
Amanda Taylor grew up competing in dance and training in all styles at Center Stage Performing Arts Studio. At seventeen, she was inspired by her teammates to try Latin ballroom, a decision that would change her dance journey. Although she had performed with the Chrysalis Ballet Company and Hale Center Theatre, ballroom quickly captured her heart. Amanda auditioned for the UVU Tour Team and has loved every moment of being part of it. The experience has fueled her passion for dance, and she hopes to continue contributing to the team in the years ahead. She is deeply grateful for the opportunities and connections the team has provided, and she looks forward to what the future holds for her in ballroom dance.
Brayden Topham
Brayden Topham, a 20-year-old from Sandy, Utah, has been dancing for nearly 1 O years. His journey began at Quickstep Dance Studio when he was 11, and it all started unexpectedly-his brother was asked to help out at the studio and eventually married the owner, making her Brayden's sister-in-law. What Brayden loves most about dance is the incredible experiences it has brought and the lasting friendships he has made along the way. He's currently pursuing a business degree at UVU and enjoys spending his free time playing games and indoor rock climbing. Brayden is excited to continue his dance journey and looks forward to what the future holds both in dance and beyond.
Lucy Maier Valentine
Lucy Maier Valentine grew up in Sammamish, WA, the youngest of four children. She discovered her love for dance at a young age and committed to ballroom dance at 10, with her older brother, Ben, as her first partner. After moving to Utah at 14, Lucy immersed herself in ballroom, joining BYU Youth Teams and later the UVU Ballroom Touring Team. She has earned numerous national titles and continues to thrive in competitive dance. Lucy is a full-time Accounting major at UVU, balancing her studies with her passion for dance. She partners with her husband, Matthew Valentine, and views ballroom as more than just competition-it's a way to connect, inspire, and grow. Lucy is excited to help organize the Gala fundraiser for the team's Blackpool tour. Outside of dance, she enjoys teaching, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Matthew Valentine
Matthew Valentine, growing up in Clinton, Utah, has always had a keen interest in sports, participating in basketball, baseball, and track and field, as well as dance. Eventually he settled on ballroom dance as his passion because he enjoyed both the the competitiveness of the sport and the constant opportunity to learn something new. Matthew pursued ballroom dance throughout junior high and high school, winning several national titles along the way. Currently, Matthew is an active competitor, traveling throughout the U.S. with his wife, Lucy Valentine, while also attending UVU as a full-time student working toward a degree in Computer Animation. Matthew teaches ballroom dance at several studios and currently trains at Peak Performance Studio. He is excited to compete in both individual and team events at Blackpool this summer with his beautiful partner and the UVU team!
