Looking to make a difference? There are plenty of ways to get involved at the Center for Social Impact, no matter your interests or experience level. From instructional courses and research competitions to immersive multi-day alternative break trips and scholarship positions, we offer a variety of opportunities for you to engage in meaningful impact.
The Social Impact Seminar is a one-credit class taught by our staff that teaches students the basics of the Strategic Impact Continuum: Relational Care, Social Change Design, and the Six Pathways of Social Impact.
This course is offered both Fall and Spring semester on Wednesdays from 4-4:50 pm. To register for the class, please select MGMT 494R - Social Impact Seminar.
The Center for Social Impact hosts two exciting research competitions, Oxford Map the System in the fall and Design for Impact in the spring. These programs challenge students to tackle social issues using systems thinking and design thinking approaches.
Impact Associates are student employees who play a key role in supporting the Center for Social Impact’s initiatives while working 2-10 hours per week. Many Associates work alongside Impact Fellows or directly with staff to plan and execute events, lead Alternative Breaks, manage research projects, and implement impactful programming.
Interested in joining the team? We open positions at the beginning of each semester on UVU Jobs and advertise any vacancies throughout the school year via our Instagram and monthly newsletter.
The Social Impact Fellowship at UVU gives you the chance to lead impactful events, research, and community projects — all while earning a full-tuition scholarship. Build your resumé, connect with inspiring community leaders, and get expert training in social impact strategy.
The Social Impact Scholars program is a distinction on a student’s transcript that gives undergraduates of all majors the opportunity to apply their skills and interests to create lasting, sustainable change in their communities. Through coursework, 200 hours of impact work, and a capstone project, students gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how to be community advocates.
Scholars receive a graduation transcript distinction, honor cords, and valuable resume-building opportunities. Enroll via this form and reach out to Dr. Sean Crossland at [email protected] with additional questions.
The Center for Social Impact works closely with community partner organizations and leaders to raise awareness and address local needs. Learn more about our projects and how to become a community partner.
