Join UVU Rodeo

With so many different rodeo programs across the country, what makes the UVU Rodeo program different? UVU is one of the most competitive schools in the Rocky Mountain region, with students qualifying for national competitions every year. Our Men’s and Women’s teams have won the region 7 times and were the region’s reserve champions 12 since 2004.

UVU Rodeo has our own practice stock, arena, and stalls for regular use and a team truck and trailer for traveling to competitions. In addition to team meetings, guest speakers, and other social gatherings, we offer scholarships to our student athletes so they can focus on their education while participating in the rodeo program.

Testimonials

  • Not only did the great coaches of the UVU Rodeo team enhance my rodeo career, but they also made my education possible with the great scholarship program they have worked hard to build up. I know that this program not only made my education possible and affordable, but they have also done the same for numerous other students.”Shawnee Sagers
  • Being part of the UVU Rodeo team taught me so many valuable lessons that I have used in my life and profession. I learned the importance of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and leadership. These things helped me as a successful rodeo competitor and prepared me for my future as a mother and a school teacher.”Hilary Bair
  • The rodeo program at UVU has helped me develop lifelong friendships. Traveling to rodeos, roping in jackpots, practicing together, and grabbing dinner after practice has made college more memorable and might be the only reason I stayed in college. Roping at UVU also helped me hone my roping and horse training skills. Roping with the best made me work harder, and participating in the short round of the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) has been a highlight of my college rodeo career.”Bret Olsen

Team Support Volunteers

UVU Rodeo relies on more hands than just our student athletes. We welcome volunteers who want to be involved with our program to come and help at practices. Our team takes the time to help volunteers become more familiar with our way of life and gives them the opportunity to try some of the events we compete in.
