Pipeline Draft Policy 252 Stage 2 Draft

This revision troubleshoots several ambiguities in the UVU international travel policy: (1) clarifying that international student experiences are subject to the same classroom management policies as on-campus education, which means instructors may exclude student guests from international program events, projects, and excursions to the extent they distract or disrupt the educational experience; (2) prohibiting students’ guests or children from joining the UVU travel cohort on UVU international trips (though of course they remain free to travel apart from UVU); (3) clarifying the Dep’t of State and CDC travel advisory rubrics and UVU’s approach to each advisory category; and (4) properly classifying travelers (e.g., students) as employees when they’re expected to perform non-educational services, such as logistical support, for the UVU-sponsored trip.

Pipeline Draft Policy 658 Stage 3 Draft

With the expansion of the number of UVU graduate programs and with the increase in graduate policy responsibilities of graduate program faculty, the University needed to develop a graduate program policy to establish elected graduate program committees and to establish graduate program committee functions and processes. The policy will also address the appointments, reporting lines, and authority of graduate program directors. Based on input from Stage 2, the drafting committee added new sections 5.1.1.3 through 5.1.1.5 to address the responsibilities graduate program directors have for enrollment management. Stage 2 comments and responses are in a table at the end of the file.
