Policy 532 University Student Groups

Policy Action: Revision, regular policy process
Approved Action: Entrance to Stage 2 University Entities Review. Stage 2 ends April 21.
Summary: This policy was written and approved in 1993. The definition of student organization, associated student organization, and club impacts purchasing guidelines, logo and licensing use, free speech, mandatory safety training (SB 134), and scheduling. Therefore, the policy needs to be updated to clarify the process and criteria for official recognition by the University and define what privileges and obligations are conferred on student organizations by official recognition. NOTE: This was one of the first policies to be reviewed by the new Equity Assessment Committee. Findings and recommendations are located at the bottom of the file, after the policy.
