Policy Manual Updates: Policy Approved by UVU Board of Regents on December 2, 2021

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the UVU Board of Regents approved Policy 503 for inclusion in the Policy Manual as a temporary policy. Below is a summary of this policy and its revisions.

Policy 503 Add/Drop/Withdrawals (Temporary)

Process: Temporary, limited-scope revisions
Actions: Approved for inclusion in the Policy Manual as a temporary policy, which will expire December 2, 2022.

Summary of changes:Limited scope changes eliminated the requirement for a student to have chair approval to withdraw from a class by deleting these sections:

  • 5.4.1 Withdrawing from a class or multiple classes, while remaining registered for at least one class, must be approved by the department chair of the course(s).
  • 5.4.2 Withdrawing from ALL classes must be approved by the department chair of the student’s major course of study.
