On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the UVU Board of Regents approved Policy 503 for inclusion in the Policy Manual as a temporary policy. Below is a summary of this policy and its revisions.
Policy 503 Add/Drop/Withdrawals (Temporary)

Process: Temporary, limited-scope revisions
Actions: Approved for inclusion in the Policy Manual as a temporary policy, which will expire
December 2, 2022.
Summary of changes:Limited scope changes eliminated the requirement for a student to have chair approval to withdraw from a class by deleting these sections:
- 5.4.1 Withdrawing from a class or multiple classes, while remaining registered for at least one class, must be approved by the department chair of the course(s).
- 5.4.2 Withdrawing from ALL classes must be approved by the department chair of the student’s major course of study.
