Emeritus Status is reserved to honor retiring faculty and staff who have made significant and meritorious contributions to the University in the areas such as student success, teaching, scholarship, leadership, innovation, and service. This status maintains a connection with the institution, fostering the continued development of the University, preserving relationships with those who hold significant institutional memories, and providing specific university privileges and benefits.
Retiring employees should submit the Emeritus Consideration Request Form to People & Culture at least six months before their retirement date.
To access Emeritus Benefits, emeriti will receive an updated UVU Employee ID Card indicating their emeritus status. This card is provided at no cost and can be obtained by visiting Campus Connection after approval.
Continued access to and use of UVU employee email account, along with the online app version of Microsoft Office Suite products (excluding Adobe products).
At the time of appointment, emeriti will be honored both publicly and privately, as deemed appropriate.
Complimentary annual campus parking permit. Registration is required each fall semester for ongoing use.

In accordance with UVU Policy 357 Employee Tuition Remission, emeriti, their spouses, and eligible child dependents (under age 26, unmarried) are eligible for the tuition remission benefit.
