Activate each classroom ‘Team’, for students to have access:
Navigate to each class inside MS Teams by clicking the Microsoft Teams button on the left navigation bar
In the General Channel of the Team, a message will appear at the top stating “students
are waiting to join”
Click on the purple ‘Activate’ button in the top right corner of the screen to grant students access to your MS
Teams class
Live Streaming From an On-Campus Classroom
Log into the room computer as you have in the past
Type UVID on the podium touchpad, turn on and log into the room computer
MS Teams will automatically start (if it does not, the icon for MS Teams is on the
Desktop)
The first time logging into a computer you will need to authenticate MS Teams ([email protected]
& password)
The room computer remembers you logged into the application for future access
Double click on the ‘Teams’ button inside the application on the left navigation bar
Find and select your course from the list of teams in MS Teams
In the General channel, click the ‘Meet’ button (or the videocam icon - and ‘Meet
now’) in the top right corner
Select ‘Join Now’ to begin live streaming
Students will follow the same process to join a class meeting
In those classrooms that have been automated, Kaltura will automatically record all
class sessions based on class schedule. These recordings will automatically be stored
within 24 hours in 'Course Media' of your Canvas courses.
Open and sign into MS Teams on your personal computer (always use the downloaded application,
not the web version)
Double click on the ‘Teams’ button inside the application on the left navigation bar
Find and select your course from the list of teams in MS Teams
In the General channel, click ‘Meet’ (or the videocam icon - and ‘Meet now’) at the
top right
Select ‘Join Now’ to begin live streaming
Students will follow the same process to join a class meeting
IMPORTANT! Teams does not automatically record sessions. You must manually turn on recording.
To begin recording, select the three dots on the main toolbar and select ‘Start recording’
