After you complete your admissions application and submit all required documentation, you will receive an acceptance letter via email. Then you're ready to start completing the tasks below.
Login to myUVU
This vital hub is the university’s online portal that connects you to essential student tools and resources. To access your account for the first time, you’ll need the university ID (UVID) in your acceptance email and the default password (your birthdate is in MMDDYYYY format, with no spaces or dashes).
Set Up Your UVU Student Email on Your Devices
Students receive crucial information from UVU, and much of it is confidential. UVU provides all students with an email account to communicate this information to them, so set it up on your smart devices so that you can check it regularly. Your UVU email address will be in the form of [email protected].
Fill Out the FAFSA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for grants, loans, and work-study (you'll need UVU's school code:004027). Visit UVU’s financial aid website to learn more about paying for college.
Apply for Scholarships
Visit UVU’s scholarships website to apply for scholarship opportunities.
Complete Online Student Orientation
All new fully online students must complete online orientation (Jumpstart orientation is not required for students enrolled in a fully online major). Completing this task is required before new students can register for their first semester of classes.
Connect with Your Academic Advisor
Every new student is assigned an academic advisor upon admission. Completing this task is required before new students can register for their first semester of classes. You can find the name of your advisor and schedule an appointment in myUVU.
Register for Classes
Once you have completed your advising and orientation tasks, you can register for classes when your priority registration window opens (you can view this date in myUVU). Online classes fill quickly, so complete your tasks and know your priority date so you can register as soon as you can!
Pay Tuition
Each semester has a tuition/fee payment deadline. Classes may be dropped for insufficient payment if account balances are not paid by the deadline at 11:59 pm (mountain time). Students can check myUVU to find their account balance, financial aid information, and payment plan options.
Prepare for Online Learning
Equip yourself with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources for a successful online learning experience.
Get Your UVU ID Card
Even online students are encouraged to obtain their UVU ID card (if you live locally, you’ll enjoy using your UTA bus pass benefits). The entire process can be completed online, and your card will be mailed to you.
