Photography and Film

Effective 02/15/2025:

ALL museum visitors with a photography and/or film request (whether commercial or otherwise) MUST submit a Photography/Filming Project Permission Form to [email protected] and receive approval and a quote in advance of the shoot

Due to the need to protect our museum collection, the art on view, and our museum visitors' experience, ALL photoshoots including formal family portraits, bridal or engagement shoots, or formal dance pictures must be approved by the Director of the Visitor Experience Manager in advance of your visit and will incur a daily photography permit fee, if approved.

The daily photography permit fees start at $150 (this increases to $200 when our flower gardens are planted, usually between mid-May through October). This sort of shoot typically includes one photographer, one camera, and the client/couple/family being photographed. For this rate, we ask that you shoot during museum open hours, are limited to select spaces within the museum designated accessible by the public, and must yield to museum visitors (i.e. do not block stairways, gallery entrances, or block visitors from viewing the art/exhibits). Also, flash photography is never permitted indoors.

Prices for other projects such as stylized photoshoots or private photography shoots vary on number of photographers/videographers and subjects/models, time and day of the shoot, set-up requirements, duration of the shoot, and private use of Museum spaces.

We understand that folks like to document their visits to an art museum. So, in select circumstances, permission may be granted to museum visitors to casually photograph art on view, the house museum decor, exhibitions, or to document your family or companions during their outing to the museum. Please inquire with Museum Staff on duty to find out if your casual photo request is permissible.

Please note, Museum Staff may end any approved photography at their discretion if Museum rules are not being followed.

To receive approval and a quote, if necessary, please complete the form below and email it with the subject heading "Photo/Video Inquiry" to
