Benefits of an MPA Degree

100% Online

Courses are designed with the working professional in mind. Accessible 24/7, the 100% online courses are easy to navigate from anywhere, at any time.  Program can be completed in 16-months, or busy professionals can choose the part-time option which takes 2-years.

Affordable

Utah residents and non-residents pay the same affordable tuition rate for the 36-credit  program.  Graduates with a Master of Public Administration degree are expected to earn up to 20% more per year than with a bachelor's degree alone, making for an excellent return on investment.

Small Classes

Smaller class sizes facilitate networking between students and instructors to build long-lasting relationships and career connections, and allow for more individualized learning.  Students can expect class sizes of 20 or fewer.

What they're saying...

It’s never too early and never too late to do this program. I went through it later in my career but still benefitted from the leadership courses, the organizational behavior courses, the courses on preparation, and crisis management; I loved everything about it. And one of the greatest parts of this program is that it’s 100% online, so you can do it while working a full-time job.

MPA Graduate

The faculty and staff have supported my efforts to graduate in a seemingly impossible short amount of time. Despite not working in public service, my classmates have expressed how much they appreciated my perspective in each of my classes. Both of my college programs have allowed me to grow and learn new subjects along my educational path. I highly recommend students attend programs within this college as each person I have interacted with has been a wonderful help toward my goals.

"in my policy course, students gain a deep understanding of how public policy is developed, analyzed, and implemented"

An MPA degree from Utah Valley University equips students with the leadership skills, policy expertise, and management strategies needed to navigate complex challenges in the public sector. In my policy course, students gain a deep understanding of how public policy is developed, analyzed, and implemented—critical skills for effective leadership in government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community initiatives.

Learn The Value
Of An MPA Degree

In today’s competitive job market, holding a master’s degree is a valuable tool to have when marketing yourself and to a good-paying career. And if you’re already in a job you enjoy, an advanced degree can put you in a better position for promotions, better pay, and recognition within your organization or among your peers. But given the high cost of a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) or public policy (MPP), as well as certificate and executive programs, does the benefit of seeking one outweigh its costs?
