1. Apply for UVU & VA Benefits

   Ensure that you’ve followed the steps outlined under Prospective Students, including:

   • Complete the UVU Admissions Application.
   • Determine your benefit eligibility and review benefit options
   • Apply to use the GI Bill® at UVU. The VA typically processes applications within 30 days. Submit a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility (Form 22-0557) you receive by mail to the Military-Affiliated Student Hub (MASH). Complete the following steps while waiting for the VA to process your application.

2. Register for Classes

   • Complete UVU Orientation and meet with an academic advisor
   • View the required courses for your degree using Wolverine Track via the myUVU student portal
   • Register for classes on the Registration & Academics tab of myUVU.
   • Submit your class schedule to the Military-Affiliated Student Hub (MASH).

3. Pay Tuition

   The following benefits pay toward tuition. You do not need to prepay tuition if you have submitted your class schedule form, TA request, or corresponding web form prior to the tuition deadline. View Student Dates and Deadlines here.

   • Post 9/11 GI Bill®
   • Fry Scholarship
   • Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program
   • Federal Tuition Assistance / State Tuition Assistance
   • Purple Heart Tuition Waiver
   • Scott Lundell Tuition Waiver

   The following benefits do not pay tuition:

   • Chapter 1606 Montgomery GI Bill®
   • Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill® 
   • Chapter 35 Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) program

   We recommend one of the following payment arrangements:

   • Prepay your tuition in full. 
   • UVU Tuition Payment Plan recommended if you are not using Financial Aid or pre-paying tuition out of pocket. 
   • UVU Financial Aid Office provides scholarships, grants, short-term loans, etc. to aid in payment.  Apply for Federal Student Aid.

4. Monthly Enrollment Verification

   Some benefits require you to provide monthly verification that you are still enrolled in the same courses:If this requirement applies to your benefits, verify your enrollment each month to continue receiving benefits or to verify enrollment on the last day of each month by calling 877-823-2378 or using the web link below.

   • Post 9/11 GI Bill®: Veterans and dependents should reply to a text from VA each month to verify attendance.
   • Montgomery GI Bill® (Ch. 1606 Reserves & Ch. 30 Active Duty): Call 877-823-2378 or navigate to Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (W.A.V.E.) on the last day of each month.
