Welcome back to campus, Wolverines! Level up your learning game this semester with
Fulton Library’s free services. Whether you’re searching for a cozy study spot, top-notch
academic resources, or one-on-one research help, we’ve got the resources you need
to grow with confidence and ace your courses. As classes start and students begin
trickling back to campus, we’ve rounded up several library resources to help you succeed.
Laptop and Hotspot Checkout – Don’t break the bank buying a laptop. Starting Jan. 5, check out a free laptop and hotspot at the first-floor Circulation Desk. Just remember to bring your UVID or other photo ID and fill out a Laptop Borrower Agreement prior to checkout.
Textbook Checkout – Be sure to book it to the library for free textbook checkout! Skip the expensive textbooks this semester and ask if we have your course textbooks on reserve at the first-floor Circulation Desk. Most textbooks check out for two hours at a time.
Equipment Checkout – From telescopes and phone chargers to projectors and podcasting tools, check out free equipment instead of wiping out your budget. Stop by the first-floor Circulation Desk to check out equipment or learn more.
Research Help – Meet with a librarian face-to-face or virtually for research help! Our librarians can save your semester at any stage of the research process, including brainstorming ideas, developing search strategies, using library databases, and evaluating and citing sources. Visit us at the first-floor Research Help Desk or make an appointment. If you’re away from campus, contact a librarian by phone (801-963-8840), text (801-290-8123), email, or chat.
Study Rooms – Whether you need to take a test, attend a virtual lecture, and collaborate on a group project, reserving a study room sets you up for success. You can reserve a study room for yourself or a group up to four hours per day and six days in advance. Book a study room now.
Study Pods – Pro tip for the semester: if you’re looking for an individual study spot, hop in a study pod. Located on the first and third floors of the library, study pods don’t require reservations. (Keep in mind that the study pods are insulated but not soundproof, so you’ll still need to keep a low volume to be respectful of other patrons.)
Family Study Suite – With a restroom, changing station, lactation room, and play area, the recently remodeled family study suite is perfect for students with children. Designed for the unique needs of parent-students, the suite also features computers, printers, and study rooms. Keep in mind that children cannot be in the room unaccompanied.
Online Resources – Although not much tops the incredible 4th floor views, cozy study pods, and in-person services of the library, countless resources are also available 24/7 on our website. With more than 275 databases, thousands of ebooks, and databases for video streaming, you can finish your assignments, find your next favorite book, and then stream videos online. While you’re on the library’s website, don’t forget to check out our research workshops, guides, and tutorials.
Roots of Knowledge – When you need to de-stress, stop by Roots of Knowledge, our stunning stained-glass gallery celebrating art and the history of human knowledge. Take a self-guided audio tour or virtual tour, then attend our Roots of Knowledge Speaker Series throughout the semester, which features distinguished speakers from across campus.
We’re excited to see you in the library this semester!
