International Student Scholarships

United States F-1 Student Immigration Regulations require financial documentation for each international student showing that he/she can support his/herself financially. Any scholarships that UVU offers international students should be viewed as a supplement, not a replacement of the students own financial requirements imposed by the U.S. Government.

 

Academic Scholarship

International student are eligible for academic scholarships.

Eligibility

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Student must have completed 24 credits of regular UVU classes prior to application deadline. Preference will be given to students with more completed credits at UVU.
  • Minimum 12 credit enrollment per semester in degree seeking UVU courses during the term of the scholarship.
  • Maintain F-1 status.

Other sources of financial aid ( e.g. athletics, talent, departmental) will be taken into account when making awards. Students paying in-state tuition, graduate students, and student receiving SACM scholarships are not eligible.

International Student Council Scholarship

The International Student Council (ISC) is a mentoring organization for new international students. The mission of the ISC is to foster connections and international student success.

Eligibility

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Minimum 12 credit enrollment per semester during the term of the scholarship.
  • Maintain F-1 status.

Other sources of financial aid ( e.g. athletics, talent, departmental) will be taken into account when making awards. Students paying in-state tuition, graduate students, and student receiving SACM scholarships are not eligible.

Selection Methodology

New ISC members are selected based on input from ISC members and final selection by the ISC Advisor.

The following factors and information are used in making the selection including but not limited to:

  1. Overall fit with the ISC's culture and mentoring goals
  2. Ability to serve as a leader and mentor
  3. Feedback from existing ISC members
  4. Number of semesters at UVU
  5. Prior active involvement with ISC activities
  6. Language/Region needs

ISC Scholarship Application

International Student Employment Program

The International Student Employment Program (ISEP) is a unique UVU work program that provides international students funding that is earned through on-campus student employment and paid at an hourly rate.

Eligibility

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Enrollment in regular non-ESL classes or in-status vacation.
  • Maintain F-1 status.

Other sources of financial aid ( e.g. athletics, talent, departmental) will be taken into account when making awards. Students paying in-state tuition, graduate students, and student receiving SACM scholarships are not eligible.

To apply, complete the provided application and email the completed form to along with an optional letter of recommendation from your future campus employer (if you receive ISEP).
