About Intersections

Intersections is an undergraduate research journal for students of interdisciplinary programs. We publish outstanding capstone work from the UVU Integrated Studies program, but also partner with the interdisciplinary programs at Weber State, Southern Utah University, Dixie State, and others. We publish once per year through UVU’s Printing Services, and provide the journal free of charge to participating students as well as to our partnering university programs.

In addition to being a tool for publishing interdisciplinary student research, Intersections is also an opportunity for students at UVU to be a part of a team of editors and publishers. Many issues of the journal are led by a student staff, who engage in organizing and planning the publication process, training team members, and ultimately reaching publication.

Join Our Staff

We are always looking for students to join our staff! By working with us, you can develop skills in editing, citation, source-checking, and typesetting. We aim to provide every staff-member with the skills to complete every step of the publication process, and use a non-credit online Canvas course to give them a way to find tools and learning resources. We provide the workstations and software that you will need to be a part of our team. If you are interested in publishing and want to learn more about joining our staff, reach out to brandon.springer@uvu.edu

Publishing with Intersections

To be published in the Intersections journal, your work must be nominated by a faculty member from an interdisciplinary program. Our goal is to highlight the incredible projects and work being done by these students. If you are an interdisciplinary student and want to know more about publishing your work, please reach out to us to talk more about the process. If you are a faculty member who would like to nominate the work of one of your students for publication, please fill out and send us the form below:
