The G/I distinction is geared toward students who wish to have a structured emphasis on global, intercultural, and issues of diversity during their collegiate career. This distinction offers students an opportunity to interact with ideas and people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. Students gain skills and resources that will enhance their ability to engage successfully with a diverse range of people throughout their personal and professional lives.
Students completing the G/I distinction will take a capstone course where they will create an electronic portfolio showcasing their work in global and intercultural work which they can use for future employers and/or graduate school. They will also engage in developing a resume which highlights this work. Students will receive a distinction on their transcript indicating that they are graduating with global and intercultural competencies and skills . They will also receive special cords to graduate in.
