Want to checkout a laptop to do your homework from the comfort of the couch in the
Loft Lab or the softer chairs in the Library? You can do that through Student Computing!
We are unveiling a new program where we setup the laptop, and you check it out without
having to worry about keeping up with buying new computers.
When, Where, How? Any Catches?
We are currently doing our laptop checkout in the Loft Lab in SC-215 and in the Fulton
Library. Just above the book store! You can check out a laptop for up to 4 hours.
Want more details on how it works?
- You must be a current semester student and taking classes the semester you are wanting
to check out the laptop.
- Laptops are checked out based on a first come, first served policy which is subject
to current availability.
- You must have your UVID or another valid form of Photo ID to be checked.
- Items will be checked after you turn them in for any damage that may have occurred
while you were in possession of the laptop. Any damages will be the responsibility
of the borrower. If you find any damages to the laptop that you checked out, please
let our Lab Assistant know as soon as you notice the damage.
- All laptops are tracked by Absolute Resilience, this helps us recover devices that
have been lost.
- You must fill out an agreement in order to check out laptops. The agreement can be
found here SC Laptop Agreement (while on campus networks only).
What Software is on the Laptops?
You can find the Software List at our Software Page. This page contains an updated list of software that will be installed on the laptops.
Do you have a piece of software that you think may be beneficial to have installed
and is in common use in classes already that we may have missed? Send an email to
our End User Technology Support Email!
