HOW TO GET HELP FROM THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION DIVISION.

Digital Transformation (Dx) division has reorganized our structure and relocated our offices. As a result, we have reaffirmed our support options and implemented new processes for non-urgent initiatives. Requests for Dx resources should follow one of the two processes listed below.

For Assistance or Immediate Needs:

You can visit the Service Desk site or call (801) 863-8888. The Service Desk's walk-in location can be found in the LA first-floor hallway should you need in-person assistance.

For New Projects or Initiatives:

To request a new project or initiative, students should send requests through the UVU Service Center Portal. Division leaders and Dx partnership directors can then prioritize requests that have been properly escalated through supervisors or the portal. Partnership directors are the new liaisons between Dx and other divisions at UVU. They will ensure Dx's resources are utilized optimally and equitably to meet the needs of the university.

STAY INFORMED WITH THE UVU STATUSPAGE.

When technology hiccups strike, you don't have to be left in the dark. The UVU StatusPage is here to shed light on the status of outages and technical troubles. It's a real-time window into the world of scheduled and unscheduled outages. We keep you in the loop with timely updates and transparent information so that you can plan, adjust, and stay ahead. Visit https://status.uvu.edu/ any time of day or night to stay connected, informed, and empowered.

KNOW THE BASICS OF DATA PRIVACY.

Is Your Data Secure in UVU's hands?

Yes. Microsoft's education agreement with UVU prohibits data mining, ensuring your information remains private. No AI scanning/sharing occurs.

UVU does not have access to your personal devices and cannot manage or control the device. We can only monitor UVU-managed systems/applications. This administrator access is necessary to maintain systems/applications and troubleshoot errors, ensuring functionality and security.

Using UVU Devices for Personal use

Students are welcome to use UVU devices for personal use as long as they abide by UVU policies

PRACTICE GOOD DIGITAL SECURITY.

Be on the alert for fraud (a.k.a, phishing) in the form of text messages, emails, and other communications. Use the following precautions:

  • Verify the legitimacy of messages, especially when they involve sensitive actions or information. If the sender warns of urgent consequences like account deletion, be suspicious.
  • Do not share sensitive information (passwords, two-factor authentication codes, identity or financial information, etc.) over text messages, emails, or other communications.
  • Use authenticator apps or hardware tokens for two-factor authentication (2FA).
  • Never share two-factor authentication codes. Microsoft, UVU, and most other organizations will never ask for your password or 2FA codes.

If you ever feel suspicious or unsure about a message, please call the UVU Service Desk for assistance.

Report any suspicious texts or phishing attempts to the Service Desk immediately.

For Returning Students

WIFI ACCESS has been streamlined.

With the rollout of our new and improved wireless onboarding, users can effortlessly connect to Wolverine WiFi as if they were guests. Without the hassle of logins or device registrations, your connectivity experience will be smoother than ever before.

Please note that for added security and a seamless connection experience, Eduroam will still require the securew2 profile and process, allowing us to maintain a secure connection while ensuring your data remains protected.

If you need any assistance with the new wireless onboarding process, please contact the Service Desk.
