Anyone with bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and having undergraduate coursework equivalent to the Mathematics Endorsement 4 or Secondary Mathematics Endorsement is eligible to apply. Students should get passing score on the qualifying exam or take MATH 6000 (Mathematics Core Review) to start the required courses of the program.
Following admission to the graduate program, every student will be required to pass the qualifying exam before taking the core courses. This exam may be offered more than once a year. See general information on the Qualifying Exam below. : ( General Exam Information )
A refresher course will be offered to prepare the students for the qualifying exam and the core courses in the program. The refresher course MATH 6000 will run every summer. Students will consolidate their knowledge on topics from undergraduate mathematics such as calculus, real analysis, abstract algebra, geometry, and topology.
