Mission

We, the academic advisors of Utah Valley University, are educators who use a collaborative, proactive approach to provide accurate information that empowers students to navigate the university and define their success. We serve students, their support systems, department and campus colleagues, and the greater community through transparent and open communication. In support of the institutional mission of retention, graduation, and overall student success, we share relevant and timely information; explain curriculum, policies, and processes; identify resources; advance equitable practices; advocate for students; and engage in continuous training and development.

UVU academic advising is a proactive, data-driven, technology-enhanced community that provides students an accessible, consistent, and quality experience as they pursue their goals. Advisors are recognized as professionals throughout the university and valued as a critical component to student success.
