UVU required trainings due Feb. 28

Make sure to login to myUVU and complete all the required trainings before the end of next month. As a reminder, here is part of President Tuminez's email from December 16.

Every successful organization, higher education not least of all, must take people development seriously.

This is why I’m requesting that all employees (myself included) complete a suite of five critical online training modules in cybersecurity, student data privacy (FERPA), ethics & conflicts of interest, workplace conduct (bullying), and Title IX/sexual harassment. These are due on February 28, 2023.

As a reminder, employees who fail to complete all five courses by the February 28, 2023 deadline will:

  • be redirected to UVULearn when signing into UVU systems beginning on March 1, 2023, until they complete the required training
  • not be eligible for Spot Awards, and
  • be given a “Does Not Meet Expectations” in the “Exceptional Accountability” section on their next performance review for staff, and a “Does Not Meet Expectations” in the compliance section of the annual review, per Policies 633 and 635 for faculty.

Courses have been assigned to you. You may also access the courses and verify completion directly on your UVULearn page.

The approximate total time required to complete these five trainings is two hours (the cybersecurity training takes the longest). These trainings represent a major collective investment of time, which is why they’ve been condensed, and are now 20% shorter on average than previous versions.

COVID-19 Info Resources for Staff

According to the CDC, Utah County is at a low level of COVID transmission.

  • If you are athigh risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
  • Stayup to datewith COVID-19 vaccines
  • Get testedif you have symptoms
  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged but no longer required to attend UVU. Vaccinations are available through the Utah County Health Department and traditional providers.
  • If you are feeling unwell, please avoid coming to campus. We want to keep our campus community healthy.
  • Free COVID-19 at-home test kits are available at Student Health Services, Human Resources, and Campus Connection. These are distribution-only sites, and there will not be anyone available to answer COVID-related questions. You can find answers on the CDC website or by contacting your healthcare provider.

We no longer track COVID-19 cases on campus or provide vaccination, but vaccines are available through your healthcare provider, a variety of pharmacies, and the Utah County Health Department.

Dx Half-time

Every Wednesday at 11:45 is the Dx Half-Time meeting.  You can access the meeting in the Dx Community Team (in Microsoft Teams) in the Half-Time channel. This meeting is only 15 minutes long, and everyone in Dx is invited.

New IR employee

We have hired a new Student Research Assistant to replace Jolie. Today is Corin Marsh's first day. Here is some information from her:

Hey guys. I'm a senior student here at UVU finishing up my last semester in the BS-PSY degree program. Before this position I worked as a cake decorator in a few different bakeries. I'm excited to get to know you all! :)
