information items
BYU/UVU IR collaboration day
On Thursday, May 26, our IR office will be going to BYU to meet the members of their IR office to learn what they do and to tell them what we do. It will be for a few hours in the morning, ending with a lunch (that they will provide). Watch your email for more details and for the menu selection.
IR social in june
We are planning our annual IR social for June. Email ideas for fun activities and lunch places to Tim, Geoff, Todd, or Leisa.
Go passwordless
UVU is implementing a new Passwordless authenticaion option for faculty, staff, and students. Rather than typing a long, complex, hard-to-remember password and using DUO, you can approve a login from your phone. No password is needed. See https://uvu.edu/passwordless for details.
ISO: UVU Swag
If you have any UVU swag that you would like to donate, Douglas is looking for things to put in a care package for a relative who will be a UVU student this fall. If you have a shirt to donate, this person can wear a Medium or Large. Please bring donations to Leisa.
2022 Tableau conference
The 2022 Tableau conference will be held on May 17-19. It will be in a hybrid format with an in-person and virtual option. If you are interested in attending, talk to your supervisor. Leadership would like employees to utilize the virtual (free) option.
Everyone who attends this conference will be reporting on what they learned at our noon lunch meeting for the June 27 collaboration day.

UVU moves from Pandemic to Endemic
Utah has moved from a pandemic phase of COVID-19 to an endemic phase, meaning the virus is now manageable with vaccines, medications, and treatments. While we continue to encourage vaccines as the best way to prevent serious illness, we no longer require COVID-19 vaccination to attend UVU.
As part of Utah’s transition to a Steady State response, some COVID-19 services have transitioned to traditional healthcare systems. Consequently, as a state-provided benefit, UVU’s vaccine and testing clinic are now closed.
Home test kits are still available at Student Health Services, Human Resources, and Campus Connection. These are distribution-only sites, and there will not be anyone available to answer COVID-related questions. You can find answers on the CDC website or by contacting your healthcare provider. Vaccinations are also available through the Utah County Health Department and traditional providers.
Self-reporting and the tracking of COVID-19 cases have also concluded at Utah Valley University, and it is no longer necessary for employees to complete the “Return to Work” form after contracting the virus. We do ask those who are ill to continue to follow health protocols and stay home until well.
The novel coronaviruses are clearly here to stay, and we will continue to work with our national, state, and local health partners to monitor for any changes that could potentially negatively impact our UVU community. We are confident that the lessons we have learned during the past two years, under variable conditions, will allow us to react quickly if necessary.
Dx Half-time
Every Wednesday at 11:45 is the Dx Half-Time meeting. You can access the meeting in the OIT - Public Team (in Microsoft Teams) in the Half-Time channel (Hidden channel). This meeting is only 15 minutes long, and everyone in Dx is invited.
board game lunch
On Wednesdays, the conference room will be open from 12:00-1:00 pm for all those who want to play board games on their lunch break.
