Performance Management Trainings and New Staff Competencies
Beginning February 2022, UVU will be offering multiple virtual and in-person classes on new performance development processes. These training sessions will cover the performance development philosophy, the new timeline, and an in-depth review of each of the processes — annual review, goal setting, supervisor review, and midyear check-in.
The classes will introduce new staff competencies that will take effect July 2022 with proficiency evaluations beginning March 2023. These new skill sets will provide the foundation for the upcoming “UVU Develop” workshop series, classes designed to help employees improve their work and performance. A link to the new competencies will be coming soon.
We encourage all UVU staff to register for a class to learn about the important changes coming to performance development. Sign up at UVULearn.

HR Annual Compliance Trainings
All employees are required to complete the following compliance training courses at least once each year:
- Title IX and Sexual Harassment
- UVU FERPA Training
- Workplace Conduct
- Conflict of Interest
- UVU Cybersecurity Training
You can access these courses in the “Learning Library” in UVULearn. The direct link for UVULearn is uvu.bridgeapp.com/learner/library, or you can access it in myUVU under the “Human Resources | Performance & Development | UVULearn” tab. The trainings should take approximately two hours in total to complete.
HR is moving to a yearly deadline for current employees to complete these five courses by Monday, February 28, 2022. If you have already taken all five courses since February 28, 2021, you will not need to complete them until the next deadline in 2023. Otherwise, please complete them as soon as possible, and let your supervisor know if you have any questions.
Employees who fail to complete all five courses by the February 28 deadline will be redirected to UVULearn when signing into UVU systems beginning on March 1, 2022. The employee will continue to be redirected until they complete the required trainings. Staff will also be given a “Does Not Meet Expectations” in the “Exceptional Accountability” section on their next performance review, per Policies 633 and 635.
