Keynote: Tessa White

Tessa White, known as the Job Doctor, is a former Fortune 50 executive who transitioned to employee advocacy during the pandemic. She gained traction on social media in late 2020, sharing career navigation insights and amassing over one million followers, while ranking in the top 1% of creators for her live sessions on TikTok. Recognized by USA Today as a top speaker to watch in 2022, Tessa released her book, The Unspoken Truths for Career Success, on February 28, 2023, and hosts the podcast The Job Doctor is In on Spotify and Apple. Outside of her work, Tessa enjoys fly fishing on the river.

Jordan Hardy

Jordan Hardy

Jordan was born and raised in Utah county. She started on her State Farm journey in 2014 and has been an agent/owner in Orem, UT for almost 8 years. She leads a long tenured team of 7 employees. Year over year they constantly lead their territory in insurance and financial service production. She is very active in the community and has served her colleagues and aspirants through many roles over the last decade. She has been married to her husband, Ashton for 17 years and together they have three children, Beckham 11, Esmé 6 and Mila 4.

Kara North

Kara H. North, a native of Orem, Utah, holds a B.S. in Business Management from UVU and a Juris Doctorate from the S.J. Quinney College of Law. She began her legal career at an insurance defense firm in Las Vegas and now focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, criminal defense, and adoption at Moxie Law Group. Active in her community, Kara serves as the UVU Alumni Board President and is a member of the Board of Trustees and UVU Foundation Board. She is also the 2024 Women’s Caucus Chair for the Utah Association for Justice and the 4th District Chair for Women Lawyers of Utah. Kara has been recognized as a 2023 and 2024 Mountain States Super Lawyer and featured in Utah Business Magazine’s 100 Legal Elite and Utah BusinessQ Magazine’s 40 Under 40.

Joshua Jones

Joshua Jones

Joshua Jones is a financial planning advocate with nearly two decades of experience, focused on training advisors to provide product-free, conflict-free services. He co-founded Everspire in 2006, a firm dedicated to putting clients' interests first. Joshua also serves on the CFP Board and actively supports the Friends of the Children's Justice Center in Salt Lake City. He holds a B.S. from BYU, an MBA from Westminster College, and several financial certifications.

Joey Kapp Albertson is a Profitability Coach, RevOps Consultant, and Fractional CFO. As the Founder and CEO of Bookflow and The Profitability Project, she provides strategic financial services for companies from startups to those with $10 million in revenue. With expertise in establishing operational procedures for financial viability and growth, Joey has a proven track record across various industries. She is a dedicated mother of three and enjoys attending local high school football games coached by her husband, Marc.

Seraphine Kapsandoy-Jones, PhD, RN, is an award-winning, results-driven healthcare executive and seasoned board member with a proven track record of success in Fortune 25 companies, leading healthcare strategy and technology initiatives to optimize patient care while aligning with corporate objectives. With extensive experience managing large teams and multimillion-dollar budgets, she is recognized as an innovative leader in healthcare strategy, business management, and the integration of Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) systems across complex hospital networks. Her expertise spans information systems, data security, and customer-centric strategies, consistently driving high engagement and fostering trusted relationships within her teams. She received a Bachelor of Nursing and PhD degrees from the University of Utah.

Emily Rowley

Emily has two decades of experience in the mortgage industry and currently serves as President of Retail at First Colony Mortgage, where she fosters a thriving culture across nationwide offices. Passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their homeownership dreams, she drives exceptional performance amid market volatility. Outside of work, Emily enjoys the outdoors and cherishes time with her family, proudly embracing her roles as Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, and Leader.

Kiara Dann

Kiara Dann

Kiara Dann, originally from Dallas, Texas, is a Computational Data Science student at Utah Valley University (UVU) and a member of UVU's first Sandbox Cohort. As an entrepreneur with experience in software development and retail management, she co-founded Fitted, where she develops solutions for personalized size recommendations and helps retailers manage returns more efficiently.

Carmen Chaires

Carmen Chaires is a VP, Commercial Banker for JP Morgan Chase. She been in the finance industry for over 10+ years. As a banker, she has worked with start-up companies, small businesses, and now large Middle Market sized companies. She excels in strategizing a company's cashflow needs and adding complex banking services. Carmen is a champion for Diverse, Women and Veteran owned businesses here in the State of Utah. She has a deep understanding and love for the community and wanting to help others.

Lauren Loucks

Lauren Loucks

Lauren is an Advisor and Partner at Diversify Wealth Management and FirstPurpose Tax in Orem. A Magna Cum Laude graduate from UVU with a degree in Personal Financial Planning, she has received multiple awards, including the Dean’s Choice Wolverine Achievement Award. Starting as an intern in 2014, Lauren quickly advanced to Partner and shares her expertise as a panelist at national financial planning conferences. As an active member of the Financial Planning Association, she is passionate about serving others. In her free time, Lauren enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, yoga, and traveling with her two boys.

Taynia Vakapuna

Taynia Vakapuna

Taynia entered the financial services industry after graduating from the University of Utah in 2019, where she helped establish the financial planning department at a hybrid RIA. She earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2022 and currently serves as a Senior Planning Analyst at Austin Private Wealth, supporting the founders and their clients. Before her finance career, Taynia worked in various laboratory settings and took time off to focus on being a dedicated mom. She enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, reading, and serving her church and community.

Octavia Desmarais has hands-on experience in digital marketing and operations. A participant in this year's Sandbox program, she has always been passionate about entrepreneurship and made it a reality this year by co-founding Fitted. Octavia is committed to creating innovative solutions.

Kallee Genta

Kallee is a Utah native, graduated from Weber State University and then quickly started her career at State Farm and just celebrated 24 years with the company. She believes in the power of community involvement and finding ways to mentor, motivate and build lasting relationships along the way which have all increased her success as an agent. She has been married 20 years, has 4 children who all love to find any reason to head to the outdoors!

Maysen Minor is an entrepreneur and graduate of UVU, where she majored in Entrepreneurship and competed on the Track and Field Team. She launched Beadology, a successful business that started as a class project in 2021 with just one dollar, and now operates two locations. Beadology's mission is to cultivate creativity and strengthen relationships through beading.

Taylor Westergard Smith is the founder of Evolving Money and a financial coach dedicated to helping families create budgets, align spending with their values, pay off debt, and save effectively. A graduate of UVU's Personal Financial Planning program, she initially pursued a career as a Financial Advisor before discovering her passion for coaching. Taylor holds multiple certifications, including Accredited Financial CounselorⓇ, Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), and Certified Student Loan Professional (CSLP®), allowing her to provide tailored financial guidance to her clients.
