Digital Marketing Professional in Residence
David Przybyla is a world traveler, businessman, bowler, a digital marketing professor at UVU, and part of the Woodbury School of Business.
Przybyla is a big believer that it does not matter your position or role at the Woodbury School of Business (WSB), you always get to be learning and that is a privilege. Utah Valley University (UVU) has some of the most brilliant minds and hard working individuals in the world. “I feel humbled and honored just to be surrounded by such intelligent people,” says Przybyla. The students keep Przybyla full of UVU pride, in fact, he would not stay if it were not for the students. Knowing he can make a difference in students' lives is an intrinsic motivation that keeps Przybyla pumped and driven to continue to succeed.
“UVU chose me!” says Przybyla. The timing was right when UVU launched one of the first nationally accredited digital marketing degrees and needed some industry talent to come develop the program. Everything worked out that Przybyla’s experience could provide a great benefit to the marketing department and program. Digital marketing is rapidly evolving which is why Przybyla has dedicated himself to helping students build human skill development and better opportunities for themselves; this has become Przybyla’s driving force.
Heavily involved in UVU athletics, Przybyla practically bleeds green. He became a member of the Coaches Circle, earning him floor seats under the basket to all UVU basketball games. In addition, Przybyla bought a suite at the baseball stadium where he enjoys all the UVU baseball games. His partnership with UVU sports has given him the opportunity to build videos, social and other collateral for the sports program and watch them grow.
Przybyla’s newest project, “The Greenhouse,” is starting up this semester. This new business will help students graduate with a degree and two years of work experience. The impact “The Greenhouse,” will have on students, the curriculum, and the community is very impressive and far-reaching. Przybyla’s goal and motivation for this project is to have the most marketable, industry-prepared students in the region.
Teaching, for Przybyla, has ignited the conversations, initiatives, and growth that initiate greater learning. Przybyla has been to all seven continents (including Antarctica), bowled a perfect game, and has a board game collection of more than 2,500 games. As long as there is a student who wants to be better, Przybyla will continue to love to be here. Przybyla is Woodbury.
