Tim Layton
Tim Layton is a co-founder and managing director of Sorenson Capital and helped establish the strategy and approach for the firm. Tim recently returned from a three-year sabbatical while he served as mission president for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Tim has extensive experience in a wide range of businesses, including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, consumer products, and franchising. He has participated on a wide range of boards and he leads the firm’s Performance Group, a team of seasoned operating partners who assist management teams in driving company evolution and growth.
Prior to Sorenson, Tim was co-founder of Alpine Consolidated. Earlier, he served as CEO of Medeco Security Locks and as vice president of strategic planning at Hillenbrand Industries.
Tim holds an MBA from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science in statistics with a minor in economics from Brigham Young University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
