Melissa Brown

Melissa Brown

Melissa Maverick Brown was born and raised in Holladay, Utah. Through high school and college, Melissa was active in dance and cheer and was part of the University of Utah Crimson Line Dance Team. During her third year of college, she chose to study abroad in Paris, France, where she fell in love with the French culture and language.  After graduating with a BA in Speech Communication and Argumentation Theory, Melissa chose to move back to Paris with her daughter and found her dream job in the fashion industry in the Paris garment district. After two incredible years of living in Paris, she felt the need to return to Utah to be near her family. Though her true passion has always been interior design, she chose not to pursue that as a career and instead, ultimately became an HR Consultant for a healthcare company with nearly 70 healthcare facilities nationwide. Now retired, Melissa enjoys traveling with her husband, entertaining friends, and decorating her homes in Maui, Cabo San Lucas, and Hobble Creek Canyon (in the mountains in Utah). Melissa is passionate about nutrition and health and is regularly active in pilates, yoga, skiing, boating and several avenues of personal growth. But her greatest joy comes from spending time with her husband Brent, and their family of 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Fun Fact: Melissa met her husband, Brent Brown, as a direct result of the UVU Board. A fellow Board Member introduced the two of them and the rest is history.
