About Ron
Ronald A. Smart is CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Won-Door Corporation, the
largest seller of accordion doors in the world. Mr. Smart began his career at the
Won-Door Corporation while attending the University of Utah as a marketing major,
eventually taking over as President of the company at the age of 24. In 1986 Won-Door
became a subsidiary of TS Industries, a public company out of Huntington Beach California
with six manufacturing plants across the country and approximately 2000 employees.
In 1992 Mr. Smart was named President of TS Industries and served in that position
until its sale to Firestone Tire & Rubber, at which time he returned to his full-time
duties as President of Won-Door Corporation. In 2007 he was a recipient of the Ernst
& Young Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Award. Mr. Smart served as a mission president
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Oregon Eugene Mission from
July 1999 to July 2002. He and his wife, Jodie, reside in Sandy, Utah. They are the
parents of two children, Stephanie and Scott, and seven very precious grandchildren.
In 2013, Mr. Smart received a Father of the Year award from the American Diabetes
Association. Mr. Smart has served on numerous corporate and philanthropic boards,
such as Chairman of the Board of Hale Centre Theatre, and Chairman of fund-raising
Committees for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. He is currently serving on the Athletic
Leadership Council at Brigham Young University, and the Utah Sports Commission. He
enjoys reading, golf, fishing, and most other sports.
