About Andrew & Shauna Smith
Andrew and Shauna have spent the last decade in the restaurant industry—successfully leading management, growth, and value creation. Andrew brings experience in private equity investment, capital raising, management and operations of fast-growing companies having led multiple previous ventures to solid exits and high-growth. As an individual investor, Andrew has financed over 16 small businesses and mentored countless others. He developed an innovative partnership model which propelled the growth in each brand while maintaining operational efficiencies and high profitability. He also assembled a team of professionals which provided the expertise, guidance, and support each brand requires. Shauna and Andrew opened their first restaurant in Lehi, Utah in 2008 and operated the business to get the much needed experience to support the growth that has been recognized by FFG over the past decade. FFG proved its proprietary platform with Kneaders Bakery & Café, scaling to 47 restaurants in under eleven years while growing annual revenues to more than $80 million. Since Kneaders, FFG has acquired five new and innovative brands throughout 2016 and 2017.
Before tackling the restaurant industry, Andrew founded three technology companies. CaptureQuest, Inc. was the 8th fastest growing company in Utah in 2002 and was acquired shortly thereafter by public Avalon DMS (NSDQ: AVLN), MoneyWizard which was successfully acquired by a Michigan based financial services firm in 2003, and AxisPointe which became an Inc. 500 company with sales growth of more than 500% between 2006 and 2008, which was later sold to Quality Built based in California.
Andrew received a B.A. in Marketing Communications and Finance. He enjoys collecting exotic and old American muscle cars, races with the Porsche Pirelli Trophy Cup series across America with Rearden Racing team, enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his two sons, Christian (18) and Tobin (13). He is 43 years old and has been married to Shauna for 19 years.
