UVU student leaders serve the campus community in many different capacities. Learn more about the different positions on the UVU student council and how we can support you.

Student Body President

• Represents and advocates for all students on a campus, state, and national level.
• Oversees the work of the Executive Council.
• Participates in several campus committees, including President’s Council and the UVU Board of Trustees.
• Presides over and facilitate Executive and Student Council meetings. 
• Helps execute the student fee hearing process. 
• Meets with local, state, and national officials to discuss student issues such as tuition rates, financial aid, technology, etc.

The UVUSA President receives a full-tuition in state scholarship and hourly pay as a part-time employee of the university.

Vice President of Connection

• Chairs the Connection Branch meetings, establishes related committees, and acts upon responsibilities delegated to that office by the Student Body President. 
• Chairs and facilitates the Community Crew to help build and maintain community across all of UVU. 
• Plans and coordinates UVUSA Council activities. 
• Creates involvement opportunities for the student at large to get involved. 
• Is the first proponent of the culture within UVUSA. Bringing up issues that are seen as well as mediating problems as they occur.
• Oversees the Get Involved Form to help students find what involvement looks like for them at UVU.

The VP of Connection receives a full-tuition in state scholarship and hourly pay.

Vice President of Student Activities

• Oversees and assists all of the Activities Chairs.
• Works closely with Chairs to ensure the recruitment and retention of committee members. 
• Attends and represents the student body at assigned campus committees including the Homecoming Committee, Traditions Committee, etc.

The VP of Student Activities receives a full-tuition in state scholarship and hourly pay.

Vice President of Academics

• Works closely with the Faculty Senate, Academic Affairs Council, and Deans of the different schools and colleges to ensure that students receive the education to which they are entitled. 
• Oversees the Academic Senate with representation from each school and/or college.

The VP of Academics receives a full-tuition in state scholarship and hourly pay.

Executive Assistant

• Provides administrative support to the Student Body President.
• Records, publishes, and distributes minutes from Executive Council and Student Council meetings. 
• Assists in creation and implementation of Presidential initiatives. 
• Assists in the organization and facilitation of student fee hearings. 
• Acts as a historian for UVUSA by creating semesterly reports that document events, projects, initiatives, and accomplishments of each branch of UVUSA Student Council with the assistance of the branch assistants. 
• Maintains workflow by managing communication with the Executive Council, Student Council and/or branches. 
• Assists in the preparation of semester reports detailing the accomplishments and activities within UVUSA.

The Executive Assistant receives a half-tuition in state scholarship.
